Casey Urschel | Co-Race Director

Casey grew up in Lexington, Kentucky and moved to New Orleans in 2013. He immediately got acquainted with the local running community by making friends and logging miles with the Louisiana Ultra Runners. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Track Club, and served as President from 2019-21. He is an avid ultramarathon runner, and his favorite place to run in the city is Audubon Park.


Angela Moore | Co-Race Director.

Angela grew up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and has lived in New Orleans since 2010. She is an experienced RRCA certified run coach and personal trainer, and has completed numerous marathons and ultramarathons. She served on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Track Club for two years, and has been a passionate member of the running community as a volunteer and racer during her time in New Orleans.

Merle | Administrative Assistant

Merle found his new home in uptown New Orleans in 2017 after a brief stopover at the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter. He is a hound mix who enjoys long walks with the occasional sprint mixed in. Between naps he is an integral part of the Lazy Hound Racing team, performing all manner of administrative duties.

Booker | Chairman Emeritus

Booker is the original Lazy Hound, and the inspiration for the event production company name. He is a beagle whose special talents include sleeping, eating, and barking. Booker crossed the rainbow bridge in 2020 at the age of 14, but will remain a part of our hearts and our team forever.
